Becoming a member
Joining the Ceramics Art Center of Marin (CACM) involves several steps. While specific details may vary, here's a general guide on how to become a part of this vibrant community. We are looking forward to welcoming you!
-
The Ceramic Art Center of Marin (CACM) is dedicated to supporting professional and experienced ceramicists and sculptors. All members initially join as Associate Members, which requires at least 1.5 years of intermediate-level ceramics experience. From there, members can choose to upgrade to Part-Time or Full-Time Memberships based on their studio needs through flexible monthly subscriptions.
• Full-Time Membership: Requires a minimum of 4 years of ceramics experience.
• Part-Time Membership: Requires a minimum of 2 years of ceramics experience.
• Associate Membership: The starting point for all members, requiring at least 1.5 years of intermediate-level ceramics experience.
Atelier sessions — structured studio sessions for guided practice, skill development, and collaboration — are available exclusively to members.
Our workshops are open to non-members of any skill level. However, we recommend applicants have at least 6 months of experience at the beginner level for the best experience.
For those just beginning their ceramics journey — including beginners, intermediate ceramicists, and children — we invite you to explore our offerings at Terra Linda Ceramic Artists (TLCA), where we provide classes for all ages and experience levels.
-
After exploring our membership options and learning more about us, you can apply to be a member to join the CACM by completing an application. In the form, you’ll be asked to provide details about your experience, artistic focus, and what you hope to gain from being a member.
Once we review your application, we’ll be in touch with the next steps.
-
Upon approval of your membership, you’ll receive an email with access to our members’ portal, allowing you to register and access our programs.
A $25 annual membership fee is required, which automatically provides you an Associate level membership.
If you are approved and wish to upgrade to one of our monthly member subscriptions you can do that within the Member Portal. It is important to note, monthly member subscriptions follow a bi-monthly cycle, beginning on either the 1st or the 15th of the month. Be sure only to make your first payment when you wish the subscription to start.
-
Attending one of our new member orientation sessions is mandatory to help you get familiar with our facilities, community guidelines, and the overall environment.
To ensure a productive, safe, and respectful environment for all, we ask that everyone adhere to the following studio policies and guidelines. During the session, you’ll also be asked to sign our studio waiver, acknowledging that you understand and agree to our policies, safety protocols, and terms of use for the space.
-
As a member, you'll have access to studio spaces, equipment, and other resources provided by CACM. This access will enable you to work on your projects, collaborate with other artists, and grow your craft.
-
Take the opportunity to network with other members, participate in intercultural exchanges, and possibly even mentor or be mentored by other artists. The more you engage, the richer your experience at CACM will be.
